NIAMH BRYSON career began when she first set foot onto the set of Ridley Scott’s ‘The Last Duel’,
shortly after graduating from DIT Film School. After three years of assisting, shadowing,
and learning from notable directors, she made the leap to directing and writing herself.
She works closely with ‘Sprints’, and has created work for KhakiKid, Toucan, Qbanaa and
Melina Malone, Her Spec Commercial ‘Pellador; Not Just For Footballers’ catapulted her
into the commercial world after it won Best Spec Commercial at the 2024 Emerging
Director Awards. She has since directed commercials for Guinness, AIB, Threshold,
Sennheiser.
Niamh’s debut short film “Trasna Na Líne” was funded through Virgin Media Discover’s
Scheme. It premiered at Dublin International Film Festival, winning the 2025 Sue Bruce
Smith Best Irish Short Award. “Trasna Na Líne” is now being further developed into a
webseries with Virgin Media and is being produced by Vico Films.Her sophomore short
“Newtown Boys” is premiering at Dublin International Film Festival 2026 where Niamh has
received a nomination for the prestigious Discovery Award for her work on the film.
Niamh’s work has been featured in NME, Clash Magazine, Kerrang, Dork, BBC Radio 6,
Hotpress, Nialler 9, Stereogum, Punknews, Irish Independent.
